Module Two: Expert Thinking to Enhance Learning
Understand how to teach students to think like experts in your subject. This module covers practical methods for helping students plan, monitor, and evaluate their learning—key elements of metacognitive practice.
Module Three: Group Work and Discussion Strategies
Discover how to facilitate group discussions and collaborative learning that encourage deeper student thinking. You’ll learn techniques to promote reflective dialogue and critical thinking, making group work a valuable part of your teaching toolkit.
To earn the CPD-accredited Certificate of Completion, participants must successfully complete all course assessments.
Each of the three course modules includes an on-screen assessment to confirm understanding of key concepts through a multiple-choice quiz. A score of 80% or higher is required to pass each quiz, and participants can attempt each assessment twice per day.
The final assessment is an extended writing task, where participants reflect on how they will apply the metacognitive strategies introduced in the course to enhance learning in their own classrooms. This reflective piece is evaluated by an Artificial Intelligence system, trained to apply the standards set by course author Nathan Burns. To pass this assessment and receive the Certificate of Completion, participants must achieve a score of 60% or higher. Detailed feedback is provided, offering insights into the strengths and areas for improvement in each response.
